Contra, Ikari, Metal Slug and other soldier-type shoot-em-up games on the NES started this Rambo-esque type of genre. You collect guns and armours and become a one man army to destroy a whole military base. Kinda like Solid Snake, but much less sneaky.
OK. With Gun Bros., a FREE iPad game, you would never have to be sneaky at all. Just go ’round gunning down everything that moves until they kill you.
You control here one of the FRAGGED (or Freakishly Rugged Advanced Genetics Galactic Enforcement Division) two elite soldiers and go to planet to planet for one mission: to eradicate all TOOL (or Tyrannical Oppressors Of Life) members. The idea seems really simple but it gets really hard because you are bombarded with fifty waves of foes which does not only increase in strength but also increases in numbers.
One nifty feature of this game is the Brotherhood where you can hire the characters of your friends via Game Center. The hired characters gain money and experience and are synced to the owner’s iPad. Leveling up while not playing… how cool is that?
To add to the fun, the game offers a wide variety of guns and armors matched together with funny descriptions. Have fun reading and collecting.
Oh did I say you will also be treated to support characters that will titillate your imagination?
Gun Bros at a Glance:
Pros: A rich list of artillery to purchase, super quality game content for a fremium game
Cons: Only four planets are present right now, learning the dual stick controls is quite hard
The Point: Fremium games that are not greedy come only once in a blue moon. Gun bros is one of those.
